Diocesan Parishes Gain First Hand Account On Growth

On October 23, 2014, Fr. Tim Hojnicki, priest of Holy Apostles Orthodox Church in Mechanicsburg, PA, spoke at St. Alexander Nevsky to Diocesan parishioners about growth. Holy Apostles, founded in 2004, has grown 445% to nearly 50 families in the parish and plans to have a new church built by Easter.

Fr. Tim presented what has worked well for his parish to continue growing in the Harrisburg suburb. A worship-centered focus allowed Holy Apostles to grow and eventually focus on fellowship (developing different groups and events), outreach, and finally stewardship. All attendees were encouraged to take ideas back to parishes.
